The Sweetest Flower

The sweetest flower
Lies among my love,
In her valley
Her nectar addictive, A drug
Like poppy turned to heroine
The succulent fruit it bares
Calls my name with desirable force

I’m drawn to the feeling,
The ecstasy,
the pounding heart like drum
In brief moments in time
Two souls, bodies are one
Not able to get closer
The only separation in mind

Consumed by eagerness to pluck
It’s blossom a beautiful sight
Beholding nothing its equal
She holds it close
Releasing at her will, and when
she does that is the greatest gift
